CONSTANTINE KITSOPOULOS
Constantine Kitsopoulos has garnered acclaim as a conductor whose musical experience spans the world of symphony, opera, and musical theatre and embraces the development and performance of new works in a wide variety of genres.

The 2004-2005 season displayed Mr. Kitsopoulos’ ability and interest in performing new works. This season, he returned to the New Jersey Symphony to conduct John Goberman’s brand new “Gotta Dance!” program, as well as Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf for the symphony’s family concert series. Orchestral highlights of past seasons include conducting appearances with the Annapolis Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, New York Virtuosi Chamber Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and a complete performance of Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Previously, Maestro Kitsopoulos was Music Director and Principal Conductor of Baz Lurhmann’s production of Puccini’s La Bohème. The production had its Broadway opening in December of 2002 to extraordinary reviews. Maestro Kitsopoulos recently recorded highlights of Baz Luhrmann’s production for DreamWorks Records. During the 2001-2002 season, Maestro Kitsopoulos was Music Director of Les Miserables on Broadway.
